Precision Farming (32) Precision farming is the application of technology to manage the heterogeneity within a field. Traditional agriculture considers a field as a homogeneous unit. Fields used to
be smaller and more uniform, and field boundaries were probably adapted to get uniform fields. As a result of mechanization, farmers are able to work bigger
areas and fields became bigger and more variable. Farmers and agronomists are looking for tools to manage the local differences in fields.
